For each people the historical path of development is distinct from paths of development of other peoples. These differences in living conditions, in a social formation have found reflection and in art, have worked out its special traditions.

The stuff for creativity of the folk artist was served with everything, that him encircled: a rock, clay, metal, bone, tissue. Our far ancestor of lodes among of forests and consequently a tree considered as the most valuable stuff. It always was under an hand, for all was suit, easily yielded to processing. From an arbor or Russian person everything created, that encircled him in daily life. From an arbor were carried up knyas's houses, the retiring peasant dwellings were plotted of it, the domestic appliances, instrument of a trade and transport aid were made by a tree, the bowl with a spoon and children's toy was carved from it. Not surprised, that on Russia have reached such high art in usage of a tree.

At the maiden acquaintance to a world of wood things, whether it be simple raker or the head of a horse, ahead a roof of a log hut, strikes surprising reasonableness, expressiveness of an outline profile. Our ancestor is fine was disassembled in properties of each rock of a trees (and them only in Ancient Novgorod have used up to 27), each time selecting that, which one more all approached to the given item. You see the tree, at all its advantages, has essential lack: it is fast blasted, easily burns.

Besides the tree costed cheaply and the wood items did not protect. That saved time, that has not burned down at fires, the people killed: what for to protect aged, if so simplly to make new? Therefore from aged, basically wood Russia up to us very few subjects of a household activities and instruments of a trade, only have reached that in past century has attracted attention of the fans of a folk art. Be agrees to historical process would owe just to the contrary: you see the closer to our time, the in the greater degree the tree was displaced by other stuffs.

All said, first of all, falls into to subjects decorated with painting.

For the folk artist the art was not end in itself. Assigning that him encircled in a household activities, he tried a simple subject to make fine, to introduce holiday to daily occurrence. With painting decorated houses and gin, desktops and chests, instruments of a trade, ware and many other things. The things these served to the person, were weared, and even if the thing was saved, the paintings was frequently laundered, was blasted.

Thus, acquaint with samples of Russian folk painting we can only on subjects, which one the retiring artist has assigned at one time obscure to us. Studying folk picturesque art, we as though commit travel in far past.

Among art activities most widespread and liked in the people there was a woodcarving. With a thread decorated dwellings and ships, furniture, ware, instrument of a trade. By brightness of images, thin humour and genuine feeling of beauty the folk wood toys differ.

The centuries-old culture of art woodcarving has national traditions, which one are transmitted from generation to generation at creation of household, decorative items, in architectural design of dwelling.

The tree and today remains by a favourite stuff of the artists. From it create a sculpture, carved decorative and decorative subjects.

There are many kinds of woodcarving, which one can be subdivided on following basic groups: Flat detailed (geometical), or detailed; flat Relief; relief; Sculptural, or volumetric; home (ship).

Each of these groups is in turn divided on a figure and engineering of fulfilment into type.

Flat detailed (geometical) the thread is characterized by that its background is the flat surface of a decorated item or bars, and a figure will derivate of the different form of recess — of an extraction. The lowest points of a relief are arranged below than level of a decorated surface, and the tops are at its level. In far times of paganism each geometrical figure and their different combinations had the symbolical value. So, the socket with beams was a symbol of the sun. There were centuries, the concept about beauty developed, the geometric primitives were piled in ornament. From elementary extractions executed by one tool (litle knif), the foremans - carvers have learned to create richest under the form and rhythms, used for an ornament of different domestic appliances.

Later, with an advance in technology of a thread and occurrence of new tools, in a geometrical thread have appeared cool extractions executed by semicircular chisels. They riched of composition of an ornaments.

The geometrical thread is expedient differs from other kinds of a thread by a large diversification of methods of a setting of a wood surface.

The planimetric thread is used more often in combination to other kinds of a thread — geometrical, Flat relief, and also with paintings. As an independent kind this thread apply to fulfilment on a wood decorative panels.

At fulfilment of a planimetric thread will use not only litle knif, but also different chisels. Engineering of a planimetric thread demands of the initiator of large attention, free possession of the tool.

All products (except for a box for bread) were made by me for last 6 months. A stuff - linden, tool - small knif and chisels, which I put aside from a saw on metal. The activity is very fascinating. Each figure is thinked over on a definite subject or style shown to me interesting. After manufacturing of activity can be lacquered. Probably I shall do it with some my activities. With easter eggs all is much more difficult, since bars and finishing paintings. On apart composite (but more fine) about 5-7 days leave. Pictures can be most miscellaneous - from conventional Russian winter landscapes up to the map of icons. Now I am end some works.
